SMART MOVES FOR KIDS

A Family Healthy Weight Program

About Smart Moves:

Smart Moves for Kids is inspired by the evidence-based curriculum Smart Moves™ from Brighter Bodies at Yale University. This is a non-diet approach to support healthier habits through movement, learning, and connection. The program combines fun, age-appropriate physical activity, practical health education, and positive encouragement to help children and families at risk for type 2 diabetes feel stronger, more confident, and supported in their wellness journey.

Smart Moves for Kids will focus on building healthy routines around physical activity, nutrition, and positive behaviors in a welcoming, community-centered environment. These efforts are led by a Certified Lifestyle Coach and other health professionals. In collaboration with trusted community partners and pediatricians across Southern New Mexico to ensure the program is rooted in local voices and community needs.
